If you’re searching for a genuinely US-trained implant dentist in Shanghai, you’ve probably noticed that many clinics claim “American technology” or “US training” without much substance behind it. Dr. Yonghyuk Park is different.
As General Director of the Americas Division at Smile Dentistry Gubei, Dr. Park brings real U.S. credentials, decades of hands-on clinical experience, and trilingual communication in English, Chinese, and Korean — making him one of the most sought-after implant specialists for expats and international patients in Shanghai.
Authentic US Training and Credentials
Dr. Park holds a D.D.S. and Ph.D. in Oral Surgery and Oral Biology from Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine (State University of New York), where he also completed postdoctoral fellowships in Oral Surgery, Implantology, and Orthodontics. He served as a Professor of Oral Surgery at the SUNY Dental Hospital and operated his own dental center in Flushing, New York for many years.
He holds dual dental licenses in both the United States and China, backed by over 30 years of clinical experience. His awards include Dentsply, AAED, and Invisalign honors.
Areas of Expertise
Dr. Park is a true general specialist whose expertise spans:
- Dental implants — single implants, multiple implants, and full-mouth rehabilitation
- Aesthetic restorations — integrating implants with natural-looking results
- Orthodontics — including clear aligner treatment
- Periodontics and oral surgery
Why Expats in Shanghai Choose Dr. Park
For expatriates used to dental care in the US, UK, Australia, or Korea, finding a dentist who truly understands international standards — and can communicate clearly in English — is essential. Dr. Park offers exactly that: American-standard implant care, delivered in English, in the heart of Gubei, Shanghai.
Shanghai also offers a significant cost advantage over dental care in the US or Europe, with comparable or superior technology and much shorter wait times. Many international patients now combine treatment at our clinic with travel to Shanghai.
